Capturing the Attention of Viewers Through Videos

If you've been involved in article writing, copy writing, or even just writing blog posts in the past then you'll undoubtedly already know that capturing the attention of your audience is key. With the written word, this task falls to the 'headlines' of the articles in question - but with videos it is an entirely different kettle of fish altogether!
Needless to say, you want your viewers full and undivided attention - that is a given. However when it comes to videos you need to take into account two things. First and foremost of these is the title of the video itself.
Basically, the title of your video is going to act as its headline. When people are browsing through videos and trying to decide on which one to watch they're going to see the title of your video and possibly a small picture that is a screen capture of it. More often than not, the screen capture doesn't really tell very much and so it falls to your video title to actually grab the attention of the viewers.
In order to do so, your video titles need to be concise, to the point, and attractive at the same time. Essentially, your video titles should speak directly to the topic at hand, in a way that could interest the viewer right from the get go. For example, instead of a video entitled 'Dog Tricks', you could name it 'Teaching a Dog Amazing Tricks in Minutes!'.
Even after you have a great title however, within the video itself you need to ensure that you're able to interest the viewer right off the bat. Generally you should have about 10 to 15 seconds to do so, and as such it is important to make certain that your video opens strongly. If you're able to capture and hold their attention past the 15 second point then you're in the driver's seat!
Despite the fact that you're going to be trying hard to grab the attention of viewers, you should remember at the same time not to go astray. Viewers aren't going to like it if they find that your video doesn't actually deal with the topic that it claims to deal with, so you'd best remember that as important as capturing the attention of viewers is - there are other equally important factors within videos as well.
If you're able to command the attention of your viewers, you're practically home free when it comes to video marketing and you should find that you're able to reap the rewards of your efforts!
