The video is great, image stability isn't as advanced as those available on more expensive cameras but it is better than anything i've seen in a FLiP or other Kodak model. It does work and you can see a difference, even if its not huge. Its SO easy to flip between video modes. The 1080p is awesome, but sometimes its nice to move back down to 720 and the 60fps to capture 'action' footage.
One negative -- which most people may see as a positive -- i do wish there were more settings, or at least the ability to play around with more features/edit modes. Its GREAT easy to use, its a point and shoot video camera
The camera starts up and shuts down quickly. The simple menus are icon driven and very easy to operate. Buttons could have been a little larger instead of the thin, silver ones on this camera.
The picture quality is stunning at 1080p, although as mentioned in other reviews you must take care to use high-speed, high capacity SDHC cards, not only for the speed but 1080p will devour card memory like nobody's business. I set the camera on 720p to conserve card capacity, and the video results are still breathtaking. I started out years ago with an 8mm video camcorder and the difference in the quality between that and HD is incredible. Low light obviously will increase grain considerably, given the tiny lens of the camera, but video taken at night with this camera is still much better than the old camcorders I used to use. Of course in very dark situations you won't see anything on the recording but black (where is Sony Night Shot when you need it).
Battery life was acceptable for most purposes. I found that turning off the camera between uses, and not taking super long video shots makes a big difference in battery life.
The camera also takes still images, and like the video, even at 720p the photos were fantastically detailed and sharp, with super realistic color and contrast.
