Travelers already planning to take advantage of cheap fares, particularly cheap airplane tickets, were pleased to learn last week that Marriott and Hilton announced system wide promotions to encourage visitors over the next several months. Hilton's promotion covers December and January stays whereas Marriott's promotion is for February and April travel.
Hilton is repeating last year's very successful weekend promotion titled "Any Weekend, Anywhere Sale" for guests able to make reservations by January 31st. Guests can save up to 50 percent off Hilton's Bed & Breakfast rate for any weekend stay in 2011. Hilton HHonors members will earn double points for their weekend stays.
Hilton's promo is good at all Hilton brand chains (more than 530 properties) including Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Homewood Suites and Embassy Suites.
Marriott has announced a "MegaBonus" promotion whereby Marriott Rewards members will earn a free night for every two stays made between February 1st through April 30th of 2011. The free nights will be available to be used through September 30th.
Marriott said that their free night offers are good at hotels up to Category 4. Examples of such hotels include Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Fairfield Inn and Suits Orlando Lake Buena Vista, Courtyard San Diego Old Town, Battle House Renaissance Hotel and Spa in Mobile, AL, Renaissance St. Louis Grand, JW Marriott Cairo and Courtyard Munich City Center.
