Enjoy High-Definition Video in Multiple Locations Using a HDMI Extender

Home entertainment is taking on a new dimension with 3D high definition displays. New movies are filmed in 3D and older movies are being remade into a 3D format. Of course, you’ll need to wear special glasses and watch a 3D capable television. So what do you do if you want to view the movie on 3D televisions in different rooms? Here’s a tip to make that happen using an HDMI extender.
It has only been a few months since a 32-inch television capable of 3D high-definition came with a price tag close to the $1,000 mark. Today, you can pick up a 32-inch VIZIO E3D320VX 3D LCD HDTV on Amazon for less than $500 and have it shipped free. The affordability of 3D capable televisions is well within the reach of many families.
In fact, it’s not uncommon to have a 3D capable television in several rooms in the house. Some sets are connected wirelessly to a broadband transmission which allows streaming of high-definition movies from the Internet. However, 3D releases on disc are transmitted to a 3D capable television using a Blu-ray player. The price of Blu-ray devices has steadily decreased, but it’s a bit pricy to put a 3D capable television and Blu-ray device in every room of your home. Instead, use an HDMI Splitter Extender to transmit the signal from the DVD player to televisions in other rooms in the house.
Some people can opt for an HDMI Splitter instead of an HDMI Extender. The difference is that the splitter extender can transmit signals up to 180 feet. If the distance to your bedroom or other room is more than 30-50 feet you’ll need to use an HDMI Extender.
One other important fact in making your choice is that newer models of HDMI extenders are capable of transmitting 3D. If you want to extend the distance up to 330 feet and transmit video in 3D format, you’ll need a 3D capable HDMI extender. There are models that allow up to 8 connections depending on how many televisions you want to transmit to.
Another nice feature of these devices is that they are connected using inexpensive CAT5e or CAT6 cable. This is the type of cable used to connect PCs in a home network. The cable is a lot more flexible and lighter than standard HDMI cables. These cables make it much easier to run from one room to another. Before you spend money on buying multiple Blu-ray players, check into an HDMI extender to solve your multiple room transmission challenge.
