Are We Going Towards a Cyber War?

Do you know, our previous generation did not even have a little bit idea about what a cyber war is. But today we are in it ourselves, lad!
A cyber war is not like a normal war, nor even like a nuclear war. But it's much more catastrophic for the person on which it is unleashed. It also depends on the player and the attacker how he handles his attacks and brings destruction to the company or person.
Today in every part of the world, including sub Saharan desserts and the jungles of Amazon, things are operated using computers, those computers that are part of a network. And these networks are vulnerable things that can be assessed by any one from anywhere with the right amount of information up there sleeves.
So, I ask my question again, are we going towards a cyber war? Well if you reply in Yes, then you are right and if you reply in no then probably you are also right. Because this question is a little bit difficult to answer though precautionary measures are deployed by many states for safety of their data.
Some call it the digital dooms day, and they think it will be even worse than the calamities that we have faced till now like the attack on American Island Pearl Harbor or the 9/11 scenario. A good idea can be by watching the movie Die Hard 4.
On the other hand there are many others who deny this possibility from the beginning. They believe there is no such thing as cyber wars. They do agree that hackers can steal a lot of precious data, but that doesn't mean a surety of dooms day. Because brining a dooms day will be a critically big thing that is considered as impossible.
But still. American private and government companies have started preparing for the so called 'dooms day'. What they are basically doing is making a model city and penetrates testing it for the outcomes and consequences if any major data is controlled by hackers in near future. Though the model city is in its basic stage but let's see what findings it brings for us in the near future.
